The Application Development Manager will be responsible for leading the application development and support organization of an existing software application. The application provides post trade management functionality for financial securities and is built on a web based Java architecture. The Application Development Manager will be the primary organizational lead for development activities, including application support (break / fix) activities and ongoing design, development and testing of projects in alignment with business needs. Hands-on development will be required. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with executive level client and internal staff. Presentations and system overviews will be required, as will mentorship and training of a blended on-shore / off-shore application development and support staff.
Job Requirements :
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ten years of hands-on development in a related business function on Java architecture
- Five years of on-shore and off-shore development team management experience, including career development
- Experience with applications that support securities business
- Expert in Java architecture and programming techniques, patterns, best practices
- Expertise in the following technologies:
-Java (EJB, JSP, Servlets)
-JavaScript
-XML
-Spring
-Hibernate
-Oracle 10g
-BEA WegLogic Server (Version 8.1 preferred)
I-BM Websphere MQ version 6.0
-Ant
- Experience and/or working knowledge with the following financial protocols, with expertise in at least FIX or SWIFT.

- OASYS
DESIRED
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in technology. Minor or secondary degree in Business or Finance is a plus
-Securities post-trade processing business experience
- Minimum 5 years experience at a brokerage firm, bank or financial services vendor in technology or post trade processing technology development department
- Knowledge of global securities markets practices would be desirable but not mandatory
- Expertise in the following products / applications, or related experience
